Doug Osborne and Tony Evans set up Secure Base to deliver Emotional Self-Regulation training to the Fire and Rescue Service who work with adults and young people who set fires.

Emotional Self- Regulation (ESR) means being properly able to regulate ones’ emotions – turn them up or down and express them in a socially appropriate way

Why Choose Secure Base?

  • Our team have been running bespoke Fire Setter Advisor Training to County services for almost ten years – we have trained almost 800 advisors to work with both adults and children
  • All of our trainers are psychological professionals, fully trained and registered with professional bodies
  • All of our trainers are currently working in the field of behaviour change with children and adults in clinical settings including firesetting
  • All of our trainers routinely work with behavioural difficulties e.g.: ADHD, Impulse Control and Asperger’s
  • All of our trainers are currently supervised in a professional capacity
  • We endeavour to incorporate all aspects of current relevant clinical research into our training and to examine the implications to practice
  • We work in an auditing and advisory capacity to many services
